About Mark Witter
Mark’s Qualifications & Experience
I am a highly qualified and experienced hypnotherapist and integrative hypno-psychotherapist. With over twenty years in clinical practice, working with well over 2000 clients, my experience covers a wide range of approaches to hypnotherapy: cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, humanistic, body-centered and mindfulness-based therapies. I have conducted more than 10,000 hours of face-to-face consultations with clients from all walks of life for a huge range of different issues. My aim is to be able to respond effectively to your needs at whatever level is required, be it conscious or subconscious, feeling, cognitive, behavioural, physiological or spiritual. Therapy is most effect in an atmosphere of acceptance and trust, so you can rest assured that, no matter what your difficulty, I will provide you with a non-judgmental, safe and supportive environment in which you can make the positive changes you need.
I first qualified as a hypnotherapist in 1998 and I have wide-ranging qualifications and expertise in the fields of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and behaviour. I have a PhD in Behavioural Sciences, a Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy (DHP) and a postgraduate Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy (pgDHP). My PhD, on body weight regulation, was awarded the highly prestigious Thomas Henry Huxley Medal for most original doctoral thesis submitted in the UK. I was awarded the national student of the year for both my DHP and pgDHP. I am a Master Practitioner and Trainer in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and I have also been awarded The Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (SQHP).
I am committed to helping my clients with the very best tools available and I regularly update my training and knowledge to remain at the forefront of current methods and research. I hold a wide range of certificates in specialised areas of therapy, including stress management, anxiety disorders, weight management, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, positive psychology, advanced hypnosis, conversational hypnosis, smoking cessation therapy, hypnotic pain control, hypnosis for surgery preparation, and the hypnotherapeutic treatments of depression, tinnitus and chronic fatigue. For your peace of mind, all consultations are carried out in complete confidence. My work as a therapist is bound by a strict code of ethics and is subject to regular review, via professional supervision.
